Sell My Car in Boise
(208) 441-4018Boise offer line

How the offer works in Boise: from your answers to a check at the truck

Two ways to sell here. Our own offer comes from a person who calls you back after the form or a call; there is no instant number, and we say so when a car is one we cannot buy. The partner route is an instant online offer from a national buyer that makes the offer, sends the truck and writes the check, and pays this site a referral fee when a sale completes. Everything below comes from that buyer's published pages, quoted, so you can hold it to its own words. The Idaho parts, your plates and your five-day release, are yours and are marked as such.

Our own offer: a person calls you back

Send the sell-it-to-us form or call (208) 441-4018. A person reads what you sent, calls the number you gave, and asks about the car before naming anything: where it sits, what is wrong with it, whether the title is in your name, whether a loan is still on it. If it is a car we can buy, the offer is for the car as described, and the car is looked over at collection. If it is not, the call says so, and the instant online route below is the answer. No time and no figure is promised on this page, because either would be a guess.

The offer comes from your answers, not a visit

You describe the car online: year, make, model, whether it starts and drives, damage, mileage, and what documents you hold. The buyer's help centre says there is no appraisal appointment; the offer is built from those answers. That is why the condition page matters: the answers are the valuation, and they are what the driver checks against on the day.

The offer can change at pickup if the car does not match the answers; the buyer says so on its page about offers changing. Describing the car accurately helps avoid a mismatch at pickup; it does not guarantee that an offer cannot change.

The title it needs: paper, in your hand

Idaho issues paper titles, and this buyer wants the paper: "We'll need the physical paper title to provide you an offer based on having a title." If yours is lost, the title problems page covers the duplicate; if you cannot wait, the buyer's page says to select the no-title option when asking for the offer, and its terms for that route are its own. A lender's release letter is not the title; settle the loan and get the clean paper first.

At the truck the driver expects what you said you had: "If you answered the condition questions indicating that you had a title and/or keys, you'll need to be able to provide them to the driver at or before the time of pick up."

The truck, and the check at pickup

The buyer arranges and pays for pickup. Give the actual address and discuss carrier access when scheduling. The buyer describes its usual check arrangement: "You will be paid at the time of pickup, the Carrier will provide your check once the vehicle is secured and all documents are exchanged." In its shorter words: "Payment is made on the spot at pickup in exchange for your signed title and keys."

Before the truck arrives, your Idaho steps: plates off, because Idaho Code 49-431 keeps them with you, and the title signed in the seller's block only, with the date. Confirm the buyer’s legal name and title instructions before completing the assignment; the person driving the carrier’s truck is not necessarily the named purchaser.

If you cannot be there: mail or bank transfer

The check at the truck assumes you are at the truck. The buyer's page gives the two alternatives with their own timing: "If you chose check by mail, allow 7 to 10 business days for delivery after your pickup is confirmed" and "If you opted for ACH bank transfer, payment typically processes within 1 to 3 business days after your pickup is confirmed." Choose before the pickup, not at it, and keep the confirmation.

After the truck leaves: your filing, your record

Selling to a pickup buyer does not change Idaho's rule that the seller files a Notice of Release of Liability within five days; do not assume the pickup completes that filing for you. Do it that evening on the state's site with the VIN and title number; the release page explains the form and the five-day count. Keep the driver's details, the pickup confirmation and the payment record together with your copy of the signed title and bill of sale.

What this site is in all of this: a referral. The offer, the truck and the check are the buyer's; questions about a scheduled pickup go to the buyer's contact on your confirmation, and questions about this site's referral go to the Boise line.

Offer questions Boise sellers ask

Does someone come to look at the car first?

No. The offer is built from your answers; the driver confirms the car matches at pickup. The buyer: appraisal and inspection.

My title is at the bank. Can I sell?

Not on a title-based offer until the loan is settled and the paper title is in your hand; the buyer needs the physical paper title. The buyer: electronic titles.

Who files the Idaho release of liability after a pickup?

You do, within five days, online with the VIN and title number. Idaho Code 49-526.

Choose the next step

Describe the car and get the offer, or call the Boise line first at (208) 441-4018. If a title problem is in the way, the title page is where it gets solved.
